Rail Travel: Coaches Replace Morning Service

Commuters and travelers planning to use the rail network between Sydney and Albury today, Saturday, 14 February 2026, should prepare for significant changes to regional services. NSW TrainLink has confirmed that coaches will replace the 07:40 Sydney to Melbourne service for the leg between Sydney and Albury. Albury City Roadworks and Construction

Within Albury, several infrastructure projects continue to impact local traffic flow. Motorists should be mindful of the following active sites:

• Lavington Drainage Reconstruction: Works are ongoing between Boronia Street and Tamarind Street. While residential access is being maintained, through traffic may experience minor delays as contractors progress with demolition and shotcrete application near the railway line.
• Burrows Road: Reconstruction efforts are currently underway following the commencement of water main installations. Expect heavy machinery and temporary traffic control measures in the vicinity.
• Australia Park: Construction of the new carpark and levee continues. Those visiting the park or nearby riverfront areas should be aware of a higher volume of construction vehicles and restricted parking in the immediate area.
• Thurgoona Link Road: Stage 5 construction remains active near Kerr Road. While work is nearing its final phases, speed restrictions remain in place to ensure the safety of road crews.

Weekend CBD Traffic and Parking

As today is Saturday, 14 February, a higher-than-usual volume of traffic is expected in the Albury CBD, particularly along Dean Street and Elizabeth Street during the late afternoon and evening. With Valentine's Day celebrations occurring, parking in the city center is likely to reach capacity early. Drivers are encouraged to utilize off-street parking at Volt Lane or the Kiewa Street multi-deck carpark to avoid congestion on the main thoroughfares. Pedestrian activity will also be high, so please exercise caution when driving through high-traffic restaurant districts.
