Official City Notice: Tuesday, 31 March 2026

Albury City Council and regional authorities provide the following public service announcements and official notices for Tuesday, 31 March 2026. Residents and contractors are advised to note several significant deadlines and ongoing infrastructure projects affecting local services.

Tendering and Procurement Deadlines

Notice is hereby given that the tender period for the Sarvaas Park Sports Field Lighting Project (Contract ALBURY-1155981) will conclude today. Suitably qualified contractors must submit their final proposals through the official procurement portal no later than 12:00 PM AET on Tuesday, 31 March 2026. This project involves the installation of advanced sports field lighting to enhance community recreation facilities at Sarvaas Park.

Community Consultation and Feedback

The Council is currently seeking community input on several key initiatives. Residents are encouraged to participate in the following active consultation periods:

  • Albury Swim Centre Winter Operations: Feedback is being sought regarding the future of the Swim Centre during the colder months (mid-April to mid-September). Council is exploring alternative funding models, including potential winter season surcharges, to offset the $10,000 weekly operating cost. The submission period remains open until 24 April 2026.
  • Eight Mile Creek Flood Study: Public submissions for the draft Eight Mile Creek Flood Study Review are entering their final days. Community members wishing to provide feedback on local flood management strategies must do so by 5:00 PM on Thursday, 2 April 2026.

Infrastructure and Road Traffic Alerts

Ongoing civil works will continue to impact traffic flow across the region today. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time for the following projects:

  • Hume Highway (Table Top): Safety upgrade works continue approximately 14 kilometers north of Albury. Expect single-lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h near active work zones between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
  • Lavington Drainage Reconstruction: Critical upgrades to the drainage network between Boronia Street and Tamarind Street remain active. Localized diversions are in place near the railway corridor.
  • South Albury (Burrows Road): Road pavement construction is progressing between Logan Road and Union Road. High-activity machinery will be present in this area throughout the day.
  • Thurgoona Link Road: Stage 5 construction continues at the Kerr Road intersection, focusing on sewer and water trunk main installations.

Public Health and Community Services

Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) continues to monitor regional wellness. While no new emergency alerts have been issued for today, standing advisories remain in effect for the ongoing Mpox public health monitoring program and seasonal winter wellness. Additionally, the Albury Animal Care Centre reminds residents that adoption fees for all cats and dogs remain waived until 30 April as part of its current rehoming initiative.
