Official Notice: Ordinary Council Meeting
AlburyCity advises residents that an Ordinary Council Meeting is scheduled for Monday, 16 February 2026, at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers on the Ground Floor, 553 Kiewa Street, Albury. Members of the public are invited to attend in person or view the proceedings via the official AlburyCity livestream. Public Forums may precede the meeting; applications to address the Council must be submitted by 12:00 pm on the day of the meeting.
Planning and Development Submissions
The following planning matters are currently open for public feedback. Residents are encouraged to review the documents and provide submissions by the specified closing dates:
- Planning Proposal - 773 Mate Street, North Albury: A draft amendment to the Albury LEP 2010 seeks to allow 'office premises' as an additional permitted use at this location. Documentation is available at the AlburyCity Customer Service Centre and the Albury LibraryMuseum. Submissions close Thursday, 19 February 2026.
- New AlburyCity Corporate Website Tender: Tenders for the development of a new corporate website are currently being accepted. Interested parties must submit their proposals by 12:00 pm on Tuesday, 17 February 2026.
Ongoing Infrastructure and Construction Works
Several major projects are active across the city. Motorists and residents should be aware of potential noise and minor traffic disruptions at the following sites:
- Lavington Drainage Reconstruction: Demolition and shotcrete works are continuing between Boronia Street and Tamarind Street to improve local flood resilience.
- Albury Airport Taxiway Alpha: Construction remains ongoing as part of the airport's essential infrastructure upgrades.
- Thurgoona Link Road (Stage 5): Sewer construction and road works are progressing along the link road and Kerr Road, with completion for this stage expected in March.
- Burrows Road Reconstruction: Water main replacement and road surface works are currently underway.
Public Health Advisories
NSW Health has issued a high-priority warning regarding high-dose MDMA (ecstasy) tablets found circulating within the state. These tablets contain significantly higher doses than average and pose a severe risk of toxicity or death. Additionally, the 2025-2026 Arbovirus Surveillance and Mosquito Monitoring program is active. Residents are advised to use effective repellents and eliminate standing water around their homes to reduce the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.
