Community Events and Public Space Notices

  • Aurora in Bloom at Albury Botanic Gardens: The immersive light installation, part of the Luna Light Journeys series, continues tonight. Running through Saturday, 11 April, the event features illuminated trees and light installations.   • Animal Adoption Fee Waiver: The Albury Animal Care Centre is currently waiving adoption fees for all cats and dogs until 30 April 2026. Infrastructure and Roadwork Notifications

AlburyCity is managing several significant infrastructure upgrades. While Sunday may see reduced activity on-site, the following localized traffic conditions remain in effect:

  • Lavington Drainage Reconstruction: Critical upgrades continue between Boronia Street and Tamarind Street. Motorists should expect localized diversions as crews focus on retaining wall construction in the area between Nowra Street and the railway line.
  • Burrows Road Redevelopment: Following the installation of new water mains, road pavement construction is active between Logan Road and Union Road in South Albury. Heavy machinery remains positioned in the corridor.
  • Thurgoona Link Road (Stage 5): Work is focused on the sewer and water trunk mains at the Kerr Road intersection. This remains a high-activity zone for the expansion of the Thurgoona-Wirlinga growth corridor.
  • Albury Airport: Asphalt laying is ongoing for the Taxiway Alpha extension and aeromedical support apron. Completion is expected prior to the upcoming Easter holiday period.

Public Health and Safety Updates

Authorities have issued the following updates regarding regional health services and community planning:

  • Regional Hospital Project: Site establishment for the Key Health Worker Accommodation is underway on the western side of the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre. Pedestrians are reminded that the walkway has been shifted across the Northern verge to accommodate construction fencing.
  • Flood Study Feedback: Submissions remain open for the draft Eight Mile Creek Flood Study Review. Community members have until 5:00 PM on Thursday, 2 April 2026, to provide feedback on these planning documents via the council website.
  • Travel Advisory (Hume Highway): Safety upgrades at Table Top, north of Albury, continue to impact regional travel. Expect single lane closures and reduced speed limits in the work zones between Albury and Gundagai.
