Community Walk, Local Markets, and Youth Art: What’s On in Albury Today

Riverside Walk for a Cause
Start your Sunday morning with a breath of fresh air and a commitment to a great cause. The 'Walk For The Girls 2026' is taking place today at the Albury Riverside Precinct. This community event aims to raise funds and awareness for menstrual health and period poverty globally. Participants can choose between a 3.5km or a 5km route through the scenic riverside area.
The event kicks off at Hovell Tree Park, near the wood-fired ovens, with arrivals at 9:00 AM for a 9:30 AM start. Beyond the walk itself, attendees can enjoy light refreshments and a BBQ upon completion. There will also be a trade table and a raffle drawn on the day. It is a fantastic way to support the Rotary Club of Albury Central and Days for Girls while enjoying the natural beauty of the Murray River.
Sunday Rotary Community Market
A staple of the local weekend, the Rotary Community Market is open today from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Located at the Wilson Street Carpark (Level 2), this market offers a diverse range of goods from local stallholders. Whether you are looking for fresh regional produce, unique arts and crafts, or a hidden treasure among the pre-loved items, there is something for everyone.
Entry is by gold coin donation, with all proceeds supporting local and international Rotary projects. It is the perfect spot to grab a morning coffee, enjoy some local food, and soak in the community atmosphere. Please note that the market maintains a no-dog policy for health and safety, though service dogs are always welcome.
Closing Day for RAW26 at MAMA
For those interested in the local arts scene, today marks a significant milestone at the Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA). It is the final day of the RAW26 exhibition, the annual showcase of outstanding original artworks produced by young people aged 16 to 21 from the Murray region. This year's collection explores themes of memory, history, and human connection across various mediums including painting, photography, and digital media.
In addition to the closing youth showcase, the museum is hosting several other significant exhibitions, including Linda Sok’s 'Reincarnations of an altar cloth' and Jazz Money’s textile installation 'River’s Flow'. MAMA is open today from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and entry to these exhibitions is free to the public.
Sunday at the Cinema
If you prefer a relaxing afternoon indoors, Regent Cinemas Albury has a fresh lineup of films following several new releases this week. Families can enjoy the latest adaptation of 'The Magic Faraway Tree' or the animated feature 'Hoppers'. For those looking for something more intense, the horror-thriller 'They Will Kill You' and the drama 'I Swear' are also currently screening. Check local session times for afternoon and evening screenings to round out your Sunday.
