Seniors Festival and Contemporary Art Take Center Stage Today

Welcome to Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Today, the city of Albury is buzzing with the second day of the NSW Seniors Festival and a wealth of artistic talent on display at our premier galleries. Whether you are looking for meaningful community connection or a quiet stroll through a world-class exhibition, there is a variety of cultural activities to choose from in the heart of the city.

NSW Seniors Festival: Live Life in Colour

The NSW Seniors Festival continues today under the vibrant theme "Live Life in Colour!" This annual celebration is the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere, and Albury is hosting a diverse program of social, active, and educational activities across various locations. Today’s schedule focuses on fostering community ties and providing cultural engagement for local seniors. Most events throughout the festival are free to attend. For those looking to stay active, a $5 Seniors Festival Pass is available, granting unlimited access to two weeks of online exercise programs designed specifically for festival participants.

Fresh Perspectives at Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA)

The Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA) on Dean Street is open today from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with several free exhibitions currently on display. A highlight for today is RAW26, an annual showcase of outstanding original artworks produced by young people aged 16 to 21 from the Murray region. This year’s exhibition features eleven artists who explore deep themes of memory, history, and human connection through a range of mediums including photography, ceramics, and digital media.

Visitors can also view "Mabinya, Wibiyanha, Wudhagarbinya" by artist Ruth Davys. This moving image work features a puppet alter-ego named Little Ruthie and serves as a companion piece to the museum’s current Kids’ Gallery installation. The work emphasizes the sharing of Wiradjuri language and the important philosophies of yindyamarra (showing honor and respect) and winhanganha (to know or think). Other significant exhibitions open today include Francis Upritchard's "She Saw, Sea Shore" and D Harding’s "Places."

Community Gatherings and Evening Entertainment

In the afternoon, the local community will gather for the "Linking Communities Shaping Futures" event at James Fallon High School. Starting at 3:30 PM, this session is part of a series of professional development and community-shaping initiatives aimed at strengthening local networks and planning for the region's future.

For those seeking evening entertainment, Beer DeLuxe Albury is hosting "Surreal" tonight. This event is a great opportunity to discover local talent and enjoy live entertainment in a relaxed social setting. It remains a popular Tuesday night destination for those looking to enjoy the local hospitality and vibrant atmosphere of Kiewa Street.
