Albury City Council and regional health authorities wish to advise residents of several ongoing public service updates, infrastructure projects, and community programs active today, Friday, 13 March 2026. Please take note of the following official advisories regarding local health services, roadworks, and the NSW Seniors Festival.
NSW Seniors Festival: ‘Live Life in Colour’ Continues
The 2026 NSW Seniors Festival remains in full swing across Albury today. Local residents are encouraged to participate in a diverse program of events designed to celebrate the contributions of our senior citizens. Active through to Sunday, 15 March, the festival features workshops, social gatherings, and educational sessions. Key activities today include local library programs and community center events focused on health, wellness, and creative arts. Albury Wodonga Health: Hospital Site and Parking Adjustments
Major infrastructure works continue at the Albury Wodonga Regional Hospital site as part of the $558 million redevelopment project. Following the recent commencement of the Key Health Worker Accommodation site establishment, the following public access changes remain in effect today:
- Parking Redirected: Public parking has been shifted to the full length of the East Street verge. This adjustment is temporary but necessary to accommodate the primary construction zone.
- Pedestrian Safety: New construction fencing is in place near the Northeast Building site. Pedestrians are urged to use the designated new footpaths along East Street and remain alert for heavy machinery movements.
- Construction Zones: Foundational works, including screw piling and lift pit excavations, are ongoing. Please follow all on-site signage and directions from safety marshals.
Local Roadworks and Infrastructure Upgrades
Several local infrastructure projects may impact neighborhood traffic flow today. Motorists are advised to plan for minor delays in the following areas:
- Lavington: Drainage reconstruction continues between Boronia Street and Tamarind Street. Localized diversions are in place near the railway line.
- South Albury: The reconstruction of Burrows Road remains a priority, with active work on the new watermain. Temporary lane narrowing is expected.
- Table Top: Ongoing upgrades on the Hume Highway near Table Top may result in single-lane closures and reduced speed limits between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.
Advance Notice: Albury Gold Cup Public Holiday
Looking ahead, residents are reminded that a half-day local public holiday has been officially declared for the Albury Local Government Area on Friday, 20 March 2026, for the Albury Gold Cup. Council services and local businesses may operate on reduced hours starting from midday next Friday. Please ensure any essential administrative business with the Council is completed prior to the holiday period.
