Public Notice: Major Infrastructure Works and Community Service Updates

Official City Roundup for Thursday, 5 March 2026
As part of our commitment to keeping the community informed, Albury City Council and regional authorities have issued the following official notices and public service announcements for Thursday, 5 March 2026. Residents and commuters are advised to review these updates to ensure minimal disruption to their daily schedules.
Infrastructure and Roadwork Advisories
Significant road reconstruction and utility upgrades are currently underway across several precincts. Motorists should exercise caution and adhere to all temporary traffic signage.
- Hume Highway (Table Top): The Table Top upgrade project is in a high-activity phase. Expect single lane closures and a reduced speed limit in the work zone between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Delays of approximately five to ten minutes are anticipated.
- Lavington Drainage Project: Major drainage reconstruction continues between Boronia Street and Tamarind Street. Current works include demolition and shotcrete applications in the section between Nowra Street and the railway line. Localized diversions remain in place.
- Burrows Road Reconstruction: In Albury South, watermain installation is progressing on Burrows Road. Commuters may experience temporary lane narrowing and should remain alert for site workers in residential zones.
- Thurgoona Link Road (Stage 5): Utility installations, including sewer and water trunk mains, are ongoing near Kerr Road. Residents should expect frequent heavy truck movements entering and exiting the site throughout the day.
- Albury Airport: Construction on the Taxiway Alpha extension continues. While flight schedules remain unaffected, daytime construction traffic may slightly slow access to terminal parking and drop-off zones.
Health and Hospital Services
Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) has announced several key service updates and ongoing facility improvements.
- Virtual Ward Round Pilot: A landmark virtual ward round pilot, launched in collaboration with the Royal Melbourne Hospital, is now active. This initiative utilizes advanced digital health technology to enhance specialist consultation and patient care.
- Hospital Construction Zone: Work continues on the Northeast Building at the Albury campus. Public parking has been shifted to the East Street verge to accommodate the construction footprint. Pedestrians are advised to follow all directional signage near the Oasis Café area.
Community and Regional Planning
- NSW Seniors Festival: The 2026 festival, themed "Live Life in Colour," is currently underway and will run until 15 March. A variety of social, cultural, and recreational events are scheduled across the city to celebrate the contributions of our senior residents.
- Regional Collaboration: Albury and Wodonga Councils have officially re-signed the "Two Cities One Community" Partnership Agreement. This framework prioritizes joint regional leadership and shared infrastructure planning for the 2026-2030 period.
