Public Notice: Local Infrastructure Upgrades and Community Health Roundup

Road Infrastructure and Traffic Alerts
Albury residents and commuters are advised of several ongoing infrastructure projects impacting traffic flow across the city and regional arteries for Saturday, 7 March 2026. Motorists should plan for minor delays and follow all temporary signage.
- Hume Highway (Table Top): The Table Top upgrade project has entered a high-activity phase. Drivers can expect single lane closures and a reduced speed limit in the work zone between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Estimated delays are approximately five minutes, though travelers heading further north toward Marulan should prepare for 20 to 30-minute delays due to 24/7 resurfacing works.
- Burrows Road Reconstruction: In South Albury, reconstruction works continue with a focus on new watermain installations. Temporary lane narrowing is in effect, and motorists are urged to maintain awareness of site workers.
- Lavington Drainage Works: Major drainage reconstruction is progressing between Boronia Street and Tamarind Street. Current activity includes demolition and shotcrete applications near the railway line, resulting in localized diversions.
- Thurgoona Link Road: Stage 5 of the Thurgoona Link Road project remains active. Contractors are currently performing Kerr Road sewer and water trunk main installations.
Public Health and Safety Notices
Official health and safety advisories have been issued for the Albury and Greater Hume regions for this weekend.
- Fire Danger Rating: The NSW Rural Fire Service has issued a 'Moderate' fire danger rating for Albury, Greater Hume, and the Southern Riverina for Saturday, 7 March 2026. Residents are encouraged to review their bushfire survival plans.
- Albury Wodonga Health Updates: Following the recent transition to a publicly operated cancer service model, Albury Wodonga Health has launched a landmark virtual ward round pilot in collaboration with the Royal Melbourne Hospital. This initiative aims to enhance specialist care accessibility for local patients.
Community and Public Service Announcements
Several community programs and public service updates are currently in effect as part of the Council’s March calendar.
- NSW Seniors Festival: The festival continues across Albury through to 15 March 2026. Under the theme "Life Live in Colour," various local events are scheduled to encourage social connection and learning for older residents.
- Albury Airport Construction: Daytime construction activity continues for the Taxiway Alpha extension. While flight schedules remain unaffected, passengers should allow extra time for access to terminal parking due to construction traffic.
