Public Notice: Albury Infrastructure and Community Service Updates

Official City Notices for Friday, 6 March 2026
Albury City Council and regional health authorities have issued several public notices regarding essential infrastructure projects, road safety measures, and community service updates active for Friday, 6 March 2026. Residents and commuters are advised to review the following information to prepare for local service changes.
Major Roadworks and Traffic Management
Infrastructure upgrades continue across several key corridors. Significant traffic management is in place at the following locations:
- Hume Highway (Table Top): A high-activity phase of the Table Top upgrade project is underway. Motorists should expect single-lane closures and a reduced speed limit in the work zone between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Commuters are advised to allow at least an additional five to ten minutes for travel during peak morning and afternoon periods.
- Thurgoona Link Road (Stage 5): Work is progressing on the Thurgoona-Wirlinga growth corridor. Current construction is focused on the Kerr Road sewer and water trunk main installations. While most activity is off-road, heavy machinery movements will be frequent in the area.
- Lavington Drainage Reconstruction: A major drainage project remains active between Boronia Street and Tamarind Street. Localized diversions are in place for the section between Nowra Street and the railway line. Residents should follow all detour signage.
- South Albury (Burrows Road): Reconstruction efforts on Burrows Road continue with a focus on new watermain installations. Temporary lane narrowing is in effect; motorists are urged to maintain awareness of site workers.
Albury Airport Operational Updates
Construction on the Taxiway Alpha extension at Albury Airport is entering its next phase. While night works for the initial stage have concluded, daytime construction activity is ongoing. Passengers are advised that while flight schedules remain unaffected, there is increased construction vehicle activity near the terminal precinct.
Health Service Announcements
Albury Wodonga Health has officially launched a landmark virtual ward round pilot in collaboration with the Royal Melbourne Hospital. This initiative, active as of this week, aims to provide local patients with specialist consultations via high-definition video link, reducing the need for travel to metropolitan centers for specific clinical reviews.
Regional Governance and Community Consultation
The Two Cities One Community Partnership Agreement between Albury City and Wodonga Councils has been formally reaffirmed. This framework continues to guide shared services and regional infrastructure planning. Additionally, the Council reminds residents that the Eight Mile Creek Flood Study Review is currently available for community review, providing essential data on flood behavior and water management in the Sandy Creek catchments.
